As referenced in the last newsletter, The
Northern Chapter of the Maine Country Music Association elected new office holders in late summer.
All of the new office holders are honored to have been elected by their peers to their respective
positions within the organization and are eagerly looking forward to having lots of fun with MCMA
& country music in the coming year.

In October at the MCMA Annual Awards Ceremony held at the Ramada Inn
in Lewiston, the board of directors presented Cornell Mac McLellan with the 2011 Media Award for
his work with the Maine Country Music.com website that he created to promote and assist Country
Music musicians in Maine. Cornell was presented with the award and accompanying documents which are
prominently displayed on the home page of the website at www.mainecountrymusic.com website.
I am especially proud to have been selected to receive this award as
it represents my vision & promise to do whatever he can to help MCMA – DECMA & MACM in
their quest to preserve traditional country music in Maine. ~Cornell Mac

On November 19th Leona Williams and company performed at the
Pittsfield Community Theater for two shows. Hosted by Bob Elston, both shows were well attended and
fun was had by all.
MCMA ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS PARTY
On December 3rd the MCMA will hold its annual Christmas Party at the
American Legion Hall in Waterville. The event will run from Noon to 5PM. Musicians can get into the
hall at 10:30 am to set up their equipment if necessary. Entertainers from southern - central
and northern Maine will participate in the annual event.

CHRISTMAS SHOW
FOR HOMELESS VETERANS
On December 18th Gary ‘Mr. Music” Knowles will host the first annual
Country Christmas show to benefit Homeless Veterans in Maine at the Palmyra Community Center. Gary
is looking forward to having this event each year going forward to help raise the awareness of the
issue of homelessness and to support our Veteran’s. Scheduled to appear is Hall of Famer Bob
Elston, The Higgins Family, Cathy & Bussy Vanidestine, Gary Knowles, Ron Knowles, Cornell Mac,
John Witham and others. Santa will also be making an appearance.

In December the membership chairperson for the Northern Chapter will
mail out letter to all current and former MCMA members in an effort to encourage those former
members to consider re-joining us again and as a reminder of all the fun they can have by being
involved with this Country Music prestigious organization.
